Liz Powers

About Me

Liz Powers received her B.S. in Education from Ashland University with a concentration in

Biological Sciences. She brings over 20 years of science classroom experience, having taught both

middle and high school students in public and private schools across Ohio, North Carolina, and

now Texas.

Liz is passionate about her faith and loves having the opportunity to teach students about God’s

greatest creation-the human body. She is deeply committed to helping students grow as thinkers,

not just learners. Liz intentionally creates a classroom environment where students are

encouraged to question, analyze, and make meaningful connections between scientific concepts,

and the world around them. She believes that developing strong critical-thinking skills empowers

students to approach both science and life with confidence, curiosity, and discernment.

Liz has been married to her husband, Paul, for 23 years, and they have a daughter who is currently a

high school sophomore. They are active members of Houston’s First Baptist Church-Cypress. In

her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling.
